Jake Owen To Make Acting Debut In ‘The Friend’

Jake Owen is headed for the silver screen!

Jake is currently in Fairhope, Alabama filming his first acting role for a film called, 'The Friend.' The film is based on the 2015 Esquire autobiographical essay written by Matthew Teague, sharing the story of a couple coping with the wife’s diagnosis of terminal ovarian cancer and a friend who uproots his life to help take care of them.

"It's a story about the beauty of friendship and their friend moving to town to take care of them at this time. And I'm a friend of a friend in the film. And it's just really a beautiful story about the realities of our lives." shared Jake in a statement.

Jake will be aligning with stars, Jason Segel, Dakota Johnson, and Casey Affleck in the film. A release date has yet to be announced.

More is coming from this Florida native, as his album ‘Greetings from…Jake’ arrives March 29th and features his current top 10 hit, “Down To The Honkytonk.”
