Reba McEntire shared a stunning throwback performance on her social media channels on Monday (August 15) as she marked a milestone anniversary for “the album that started it all.”

McEntire released her debut album, the self-titled 11-track collection Reba McEntire, 45 years ago. McEntire posted a photo of her album artwork, along with a clip of her rendition of one of the songs on the album, “Why Can’t He Be You.” She credited the legendary Grand Ole Opry for providing footage of the 1978 performance: “Happy 45th anniversary to the album that started it all, Reba McEntire! On my first recorded Grand Ole Opry performance on April 25, 1978, I sang 'Why Can’t He Be You' from this album. Thanks to [Opry] for sharing this footage!”

Since releasing her debut album, McEntire has recorded dozens of No. 1 hits over the course of her iconic decades-long career. She’s getting ready for her 17-city arena tour with Terri Clark, marking their first tour together since 2005. The upcoming tour is set to kick off in October. McEntire has also starred in TV shows and movies over the years, including her beloved early 2000s sitcom Reba and a Lifetime film that’s set to release next year. McEntire recently shared a trailer for The Hammer, “a made up story about a real life judge,” which reunites the country star with Reba co-star Melissa Peterman.
