Would Luke Combs ever release a collaboration with Morgan Wallen?
Combs recently caught up with Wayne D, ahead of his highly-anticipated album that’s due to release at the end of this month. During their chat, the iHeartRadio host noted that Wallen also dropped a new album, his massive 36-track project, One Thing At A Time. He wanted to know, “[Wallen] seems to be dipping his toe in the collaboration pool a lot. Is there talk of the two of you getting together?”
“I don’t know,” Combs replied. “I mean, we’ve kicked that can down the road a little bit, and we’ve just never really landed on a song that I think that we both love, that we want to do, you know? I don’t think it’s out of the question at all. I think it would be awesome.”
Combs is gearing up to debut Gettin’ Old, his 18-track album and follow-up to 2022’s Growin’ Up. So far, Combs has released or teased teased a few of the tracks on the forthcoming project, including “Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old,” “Joe,” “Love You Anyway” and “Tattoo On A Sunburn,” among others. Gettin’ Old’s track list also includes the widely-demanded anthem, “5 Leaf Clover.”
“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now. One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through,” Combs previously said of the album. “It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record and I hope you love it as much as we do.”
Like Wallen, Combs is getting ready to kick off a massive world tour this year. The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year (who is nominated in multiple categories at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards) is set to kick off the international trek just after the release of his album on March 24.
